Sustainable

growth

Providing supply chain solutions to the aviation industry, Farsound’s new 58,000 sq ft headquarters at Goodman’s London Brentwood Commercial Park has been designed to support the company’s ambitious growth plans – both in the UK and globally.

Farsound's new state-of-the-art facility is the largest premises investment it’s made to date, having eight times the capacity of its former HQ, and the flexibility to add mezzanines and other facilities as the business continues to grow and expand its service offering.

Supporting sustainable growth

Priding itself on its customer-centric approach, everything has been designed to provide a fast and flexible service to Farsound’s customers.

Technology plays a key role in the new facility, with a focus on the latest IT and logistics systems, including a new £1.2 million robotics system for the picking of aerospace parts. This investment is helping Farsound to meet its delivery targets with the new system picking approximately 30 per cent faster than a purely manual operation.

The highly sustainable facility has been developed to a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ specification and has achieved an A+ energy performance rating, with the base building generating more energy than it consumes. A full rooftop of solar PV with a system size of 426kWp is helping to power the robotics system, electric car charging points have been installed and reclaimed greywater is used for flushing toilets.

Prioritising people and workplace culture

Staff comfort and quality working conditions were also key factors in the building's design, with many aspects of the new facility encouraging a collaborative culture.

The layout is open plan to allow for flexible working and there’s also an on-site canteen providing nutritious meals. Other facilities including relaxation spaces, games rooms, a gym and yoga areas, have been designed to enhance the working experience and support the health and wellbeing of Farsound’s staff.

Strategic location close to consumers

The 58,000 sq ft facility at Goodman’s London Brentwood Commercial Park is located just three miles from Junction 29 of the M25, making it ideally placed to serve London and the South East.

Proximity to the national motorway network provides Farsound with access to world-class multimodal infrastructure, combined with excellent connectivity to UK, European and global markets. As an aerospace supply chain solutions specialist, Farsound also benefits from six major east coast sea ports and port-side rail freight terminals within easy reach.

We are pleased to be able to officially open our new headquarters building in Brentwood, Essex. It has been more than two years in the planning and represents a significant investment for us. We believe firmly that it will support our ambitious growth plans, as we expand our team, our services and our market reach, not only here in the UK, but around the world.
