Building works on Goodman’s state-of-the-art 266,570 sq ft industrial distribution unit at London Medway Commercial Park (formerly Kingsnorth), are now well underway. Progress remains within the project programme, with completion due by the end of 2015.
The foundations of the building are currently being built on the distribution unit, which represents a £20million investment in the Kent industrial site by project funders Anglesea Logistics Partnerships. In just three weeks, the steelworks will be in place.
Once complete, the distribution unit will feature a 15 metre clear internal height, 50 metre service yard, 24 loading doors and 236 car spaces.
George Glennie, development director, Goodman UK Logistics said: “We’re excited about this new industrial distribution unit at London Medway Commercial Park. Work has started and it is coming out of the ground quickly and attracting market interest.
“There are a number of plots on the park primed and ready for development with a turnaround time of just seven months to build a fully operational logistics centre, so whatever customers are looking for we have something to fit their needs.
“The Park itself is on a strong strategic location, thanks to this and a quality Goodman product we are not surprised to be experiencing strong interest from potential customers”
London Medway Commercial Park offers access to the experienced Medway labour force and boasts a strong strategic location in the South East close to the M20, M2 and M25, perfectly placed for both regional and national distribution companies. It benefits from recently completed infrastructure works and improved access from the A228 dual carriageway. Serviced plots are available for units from 25,000 sq ft to 1,225,000 sq ft.
Goodman has 17 strategically-located sites across the UK, capable of delivering over 16.5 million sq ft. Each of these sites offers exceptional access to key transport hubs, including motorway interchanges, ports and airports. In 2015 Goodman will develop 1.7 million sq ft of speculative space throughout the UK in 13 units across six schemes.
CBRE, DTRE and Moriarty & Co have been appointed leasing agents for the new unit at London Medway Commercial Park.
