Leading independent brewing and pub retailing business Marstons, has announced that it has bought 1.1 acres at Goodman’s Andover Business Park to build a pub at the park.
Marstons, which operates over 2,150 pubs and bars across the country, is the first roadside customer at the park. It plans to build a Milestone Rotisserie family pub restaurant which will include a terrace, beer garden and children’s play area.
Goodman has started construction of the access road which will open up the additional 6 acres of roadside plots. The sale marks the beginning of the next phase of development at the Park, in which Goodman hopes to attract a number of complimentary roadside offerings including a children’s nursery, hotel, self-storage, restaurant and a gym.
Opening later in the year, the pub will create up to 10 full time and 40 part time positions and benefit from the custom of an estimated 2,500 who will work at the park in addition to the local community. It will also be ideally placed to attract clientele from the neighbouring Defence Support Group headquarters.
Goodman is marketing the remaining sites at the Park and will develop units on a pre-let or pre-sale basis, depending on individual customer requirements. Within reach of the M3, M4 and major road networks, Andover Business Park is a 100 acre multi use scheme with granted consent for numerous opportunities to provide a flexible choice of size and usage to suit any specification.
Charles Crossland, Managing Director, Goodman UK Logistics said:

To this end, we welcome the food and beverage offering as part of this process, it is hoped that this new development will be at the forefront of the community. We are now in a position to develop premium buildings to suit a range of occupiers and look forward to welcoming new customers to this recognised business and logistics location.”
Steve Roberts. Head of Acquisitions, said:
“Marston’s aim is to build family-friendly pub restaurants at the heart of thriving communities across the country, and we’re sure the Andover Business Park will be just such a community. We’re committed to providing a warm welcome, quality cask ales and delicious food at all our pub-restaurants, and we’re looking forward to being a part of this development project.”
Goodman has invested £105 million into its 800 acre UK land bank to ensure that outline planning and infrastructure are in place and the sites are ready for construction. This unique offering dramatically reduces the time it takes to build fully operational logistics, industrial and business facilities, a key concern for customers. Goodman has 14 strategically located sites across the UK market, capable of delivering over 14 million sq ft of logistics space. Four of Goodman’s UK sites can deliver facilities of over one million sq ft, and eight are capable of delivering over 500,000 sq ft of logistics space each.
Carter Jonas, Savills and Jones Lang LaSalle are agents on the scheme.
