Wednesday, 07 November 2012

Global property group Goodman has agreed a long term lease for 213,240 sq ft of prime logistics space with the UK’s largest arts and crafts retailer, Hobbycraft at First Point, Burton.

Hobbycraft will lease the entire facility at Burton Logistics Centre, which is located one mile from the A38, providing convenient access to the Midlands and wider UK market.

Jason Harris, Commercial Director, Goodman UK Logistics said: “This letting is one of the largest in the market this year and reinforces the continued interest from customers, in particular UK retailers, in prime industrial and logistics property. This is highlighted by the fact that our portfolio is now almost fully let, with only one vacant facility within the portfolio .”

James Yates, Property Director, Hobbycraft said: “We are pleased to secure this new national distribution facility which will support our ambitious growth plans over the coming years.”

Hobbycraft is expected to occupy Burton Logistics Centre from November 2012

Goodman has invested £75 million in infrastructure work across its UK land bank, which comprises over 800 acres of well-located sites, capable of delivering 14 million sq ft (1.3 million sq m) of bespoke development across the country.

BNP Paribas, Jones Lang LaSalle and Savills are leasing agents on First Point, Burton. Hobbycraft was represented by CBRE.
