Global integrated property group, Goodman, has agreed a major new lease of Daventry’s 995,957 sq ft Royal Oak Distribution Centre – better known as Bigfoot – to European logistics giant Norbert Dentressangle.
Bigfoot is the UK’s largest available distribution warehouse located within the prime UK distribution location of Northamptonshire, East Midlands. The letting to Norbert Dentressangle comes at a time when there is a distinct lack of supply for quality logistics space within the region.
Charles Crossland, Managing Director of Goodman UK Logistics, said: “The letting of Bigfoot to Norbert Dentressangle is a significant deal within the market and highlights the continued interest from customers in prime industrial and logistics property.”

Bigfoot is located within the UK’s prime logistics network close to Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal, East Midlands Airport and the M1. The warehouse originally opened in 1970 as the Green Shield Stamp warehouse, before being taken on by Argos. Goodman bought Bigfoot in 2007.
Goodman has invested £130 million into its 1,000 acre UK land bank to ensure that outline planning and infrastructure are in place and the sites are ready for construction. This unique offering dramatically reduces the time it takes to build fully operational logistics centres, a key concern for logistics customers. Goodman has 14 strategically-located sites across the UK market capable of delivering over 19 million sq ft of bespoke development. These sites offer exceptional access to key transport hubs, including motorway interchanges and airports.
