Goodman UK Logistics Partnership has formed a joint venture with Wilson Bowden to develop 130,000 sq ft of industrial space at Interlink 130, Bardon in the East Midlands.
Goodman UK Logistics Partnership and Wilson Bowden have committed to develop an industrial unit of 130,000 sq ft, at this prime logistics location in the East Midlands. Construction is due to start in July 2015 with completion scheduled for March 2016.
The development of the unit at Interlink 130 represents a significant investment for the local area. Once complete, the unit, within an established industrial area will offer a host of environmental features including carbon neutral cladding and have a BREEAM rating of Very Good.
Jason Harris, Commercial Director, Goodman UK Logistics, said:
“Goodman is delighted to announce our plans for this development and we are excited to be working with a trusted partner in Wilson Bowden.
The project is a sign of the strength of the market at the moment, and the growing demand for Grade A logistics space in the Leicester area, and indeed the wider East Midlands. We anticipate strong demand for the unit given the shortage of supply in the region.
Goodman has a proven track record of managing the delivery of prime logistics developments and we look forward to seeing the unit at Interlink through to its successful completion in March 2016.”
Nick Richardson, Managing Director, Wilson Bowden, added:
“We’re looking forward to working with Goodman to deliver this state-of-the-art distribution unit at the Interlink Park in Bardon. Our established site is at the heart of the sought after East Midlands logistics hub, and we are confident of securing strong interest in the unit once complete."
Interlink 130, Bardon is a prime East Midlands location situated two miles from the M1 motorway and to the North of Leicester. The site lies within Interlink Park which was originally developed by Wilson Bowden in the early 2000s. It is now well established as a key logistics park and customers include Laura Ashley, Waitrose, Volvo and Nissan.
Goodman has 17 strategically-located sites across the UK, capable of delivering over 16.5 million sq ft. Each of these sites offers exceptional access to key transport hubs, including motorway interchanges, ports and airports. In 2015 Goodman will develop 1.7 million sq ft of speculative space throughout the UK in 13 units across six schemes.
North Rae Sanders and CBRE have been appointed as leasing agents for the unit at Interlink.
