Goodman takes bids for largest distribution centre on the market

Friday, 14 February 2014

Global property group Goodman has announced that its 995,957 sq ft Royal Oak Distribution Centre (nicknamed Bigfoot) in Daventry is now available to let.

Located within the UK’s distribution “Golden Triangle”, the fully-fitted facility is the largest distribution warehouse available in the UK. When the building last came to the market, Tesco out-bid similar blue chip retailers to secure the space on a leasehold basis.

Charles Crossland, Managing Director of Goodman UK Logistics said: ““Bigfoot’s” arrival onto the market is a unique opportunity. The warehouse offers a single customer, or a number  of  customers,  an  opportunity  to  fulfil  vast  logistics  requirements  in  a  prime location.  The facility is one of a kind – a warehouse of this scale is rarely seen on the market and being fully fitted, it is available for immediate occupation.

“Across the Midlands supply levels continue to diminish as take-up and customer requirements are increasing. As a consequence, we anticipate high demand for this facility.”

The Royal Oaks Distribution Centre in Daventry is located within the UK’s prime logistics network.  With easy access to Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal, East Midlands Airport and the M1, the facility provides easy connections to Birmingham, London and the North.

North  Rae  Sanders,  Colliers  International  and  Jones  Lang  La  Salle  are  advising Goodman.
